Peace on Earth

I worked a night shift Christmas Eve and came home Christmas morning to this beautiful Christmas message. Out of all the presents I received today, this gift from God was the most beautiful.

I was so grateful for that small moment before I went into the house..................... where the PARTY was waiting.

S.S.S. (aka Sharp Shooter Shelton)

Well She's only 10 years old but her first kill was dropped liked a pro. Brad said that she shot it in a better place than any of the game he has brought down.

I don't think that the fact that Nina is having her 4th girl is going to stop Brad from having any hunting buddies, he is training her well. Kayla is posing in this picture with her proud grandpa Shelton.

Little Muncskins

First Of all Declan and Deloy came over to scare usT
Then Jay and Sam came over. Jay was a scary shark

And Sam decided to be Papa  Richard and refuse to dress up at all
Then Eric and Sandy's girls came over and that was all the trick-or-treaters we got
Deloy carved this pumpkin "Free Hand"of Jack Sparrow. What a piece of art. We were amazed it was so intro cut!
We hope everyone had a fantastic Halloweeen.

Bucket list # 3, Learn a new skill

Well recently we've started raising chickens which we have thoroughly enjoyed . There is a down side to raising chickens and I wanted to know if I could handle that part.  My good friend Joann Walker was willing to teach me how to butcher a  couple of roosters and a couple of turkeys. It wasn't to bad and we really did have a good time because it was good company.

The kill cone relaxes the bird and keeps it from flapping. You just puncture the artery and they calmly fall asleep. No head chopping!

Happy Birthday Karren!

We celebrated Karrens Birthday this week.  Poor baby thinks she's an old lady at 22.

Look at all the smoke "all" those candles made.
We love Karren and are so happy that she is living at home this semester with us.

Shannon made a beautiful cake and Everyone wrote me a sweet letter that Shayla composed into a little book for me. Jay and Richard helped me eat rattlesnake (another one of my bucket list goals).  It was a great evening THANKS EVERYONE!

Eating Grasshoppers

So I'm turning 50 soon and thought I better start doing some of the things on my bucket list instead of just talking about it. #1 eat a grasshopper.
Of course I documented.  Enjoy. The two on the right are sugar coated and the others are salted. Then there is the one that panicked when it hit the hot oil and fried in flight mode.

Hey the Good Book says to eat things in their season and at our house grasshoppers are defiantly in season!

Just to tempt Brad

Yea so we would really like for Nina and Brad to move home some day or just come home more often, so this post is to entice Brad.
We went camping just an hour from our home at Lake Sibley this last week.
